Cow and the Moon, Newtown

After having dinner at Hartsyard Mr C decided that before heading home we would stop by and visit Cow and the Moon which was just up the road for a small dessert gelato. It’s only about five minutes walk from King Street, Newtown so it’s not too far way if you’re in Newtown for lunch or dinner.

I decided to pick three flavours in one cup that ended up being Turkish delight, mocha, and mandarin. The mocha flavour was quite pedestrian and not too special but the Mandarin was a sorbet that had a very nice sour taste and a refreshing iciness to it. The Turkish delight turned out to be my favourite though because it had a very nice sweet flavour which reminded me of a rose ice cream I had before.

I really enjoyed the gelato we had here, they also seem to have quite a big list of cakes and desserts available for order. A few of the other customers went away with the chocolate truffles (above) which seemed to be very popular also, they did look good after all! If we’re ever around the area I’d definitely want to head back for dessert here especially because it’s really good value at only $5 or so for the three scoops.
