Goblin, Summer Hill

Goblin is a little cafe located at Summer Hill right by the train station. The cafe serves up both breakfast and lunch items and seemed to be quite busy when we visited on a Saturday afternoon.

Eggs benedict w/ smoked salmon, served with house made hollandaise & roast tomato on sourdough toast

I’m always up for a good eggs benedict so when I saw this was available on the menu I went right for it along with extra mushrooms. Definitely one of the better made eggs bene’s that I’ve had in a while, lots of creamy egg yolk and generous servings of mushrooms and salmon.

Wagyu burger w/ bacon, cheese, tomato relish, mustard, pickles, tomato and fries

Our second choice of the day was a more substantial item from the lunch menu. The delicious wagyu burger is your classic American style burger with extra bacon to go with it, deliciously unhealthy but oh so good.

As expected the cafe has a great selection of coffees, teas and, smoothies, shakes and juices to choose from.

Overall I would Goblin as a nice neighborhood cafe with your standard cafe fare, nothing too inventive or crazy but the classic menu items that they serve are done well and that’s what I love most about it. The coffee was great as well which is always a prerequisite for a good cafe!
