Customs House Bar, Circular Quay
Customs House Bar at Sydney Harbour Marriott is a great little venue located at Circular Quay just moments from the water. The bar and restaurant serves a large array of contemporary Australian food and a great selection of drinks. All of this is situated within a beautiful venue with over 160 years of history behind it.
Pulled Pork Steam Buns with Roasted Chilli Sambal
It’s definitely not the norm to find Asian style pork buns at a bar like this but who am I to complain? The fluffy bread and melt in your mouth pork with sambal sauce was absolutely delicious.
Cajun Chicken Skewers
The cajun chicken skewers are quite good, the biggest issue I generally have with chicken skewers at bars and when they’re catered is how dry they are. In this case the chicken was wonderfully tender and flavoursome.
Truffle Arancini
I’ve always loved a good arancini but it’s rare that I actually get to have any nowadays. These ones were extra crispy with plenty of delicious filling, the aioli on the side was nice and tangy.
Fire Roasted Mini Chorizos
Chorizo sausages are one of my favourite types of sausages, if it weren’t for the fact that they were so bad for my health I would eat them on a far more regular basis. Despite the abundance of food during the meal I saved a bit of space for these delicious little morsels.
Parmesan Fries with Truffle Mayo
It didn’t actually come as a surprise to me that one of my favourite dishes during the meal was actually the side of parmesan fries and truffle mayo, they’re extra (no seriously!) crispy and the cheese is amazing.
Jack Daniels Peanut Butter Milkshake
Props to Gabriella from Sydney Harbour Marriott 🙂 – this invention is dangerously good, it’s exactly what the name says it is.
White and Dark Chocolate Bark
And for the final dish we had the delicious deliciously smooth white and dark chocolate bark, the serving size was large enough that I actually had to bag it and take some back to the office to share!
I was actually surprised to find that the bar is mostly situated outdoors, all the times I had walked past I always assumed there was a large space indoors. The bright airy outdoor seating with heating makes it an attractive place to meet up and have a nice relaxed meal.
