Chat Thai, Sydney

We’ve been to all of the Chat Thai restaurants in Sydney over the past year or two and the good news is that the food is consistently good, and by good I mean really good!
I compiled a list of the best dishes that we had recently (unfortunately we don’t have photos from our earlier trips).

The above image is of prawn cakes and plum sauce. This dish was pretty good and the plum sauce tasted delicious. The crispy outside is really golden and slightly crunchy and we would order it again as an entree for sure.

Char Grilled Lemongrass Chicken

I loved this dish ! The chicken was a little tough to begin with but the chilli sauce made up for it, it was a bit sour-ish too! Couldn’t help myself over dipping my chicken with the chilli. On the first bite it was a bit too chilli for me (what a surprise right?), but then the spiciness disappeared and I ended up gobbling the whole dish up 🙂

Lodt Shong Singapore

I think Mr C mentioned this was a coconut milk tea or something? We originally planned to have Starbucks after this dinner but then this drink was really filling especially with those green jelly things (apparently pandan) –  they had a very interesting taste to it which I ended up liking.

I wasn’t a big fan of the jelly but I unconsciously kept eating it plus the coconut milk tea was so yummy! I still prefer Thai milk tea but this coconut drink wasn’t too bad and it was a new drink for me and I really wouldn’t mind ordering it again next time. 🙂

Jasmine Rice

Nothing much to say, just rice to go with our main dishes 🙂 I always love rice! You shall not seperate me from my rice.

Wok Fried Spinach

This is definitely a must order dish for people that love vegetables. I was told by Mr C the other day that he hated eating vegetables but after I forced him to order them, he now loves it and always takes my share. The spinach was cooked SO well, it was very soft, easy to eat and has a nice ginger and spicy taste to it.

Pour the chilli sauce from the char grilled chicken into the spinach and it’ll taste so much better!!

Roasted Duck with Gravy Sauce

I first had this dish at the Food Festival last year from Longrain and I couldn’t stop thinking about the taste ever since! I thought Chinese Duck BBQ was always the best but this is even better! There’s just something about the soy sauce dipping at the sauce cooked with the duck, it makes my mouth water.

This was literally the second time I’ve had this dish and I would order it every day if I could!! Even better, there was hardly fat on the duck, purely meat. Made the dish more tasty and worth the price! Mr C told me they have this dish everywhere in Thailand and 10x better, so that just increased the possibility of me traveling to Thailand now 🙂

Fried Noodles with Soy Bean Gravy Sauce

I can’t decide whether this dish or the duck rice is my favourite Thai dish. I just simply love the sauce (Soup as I call it.) and the noodles! It can be a little salty but you wouldn’t care about that minor thing with this mouthwatering and delightful dish! Even better, it had mushrooms LOL

I also had the pleasure to try out Mr C’s fathers cooking for this dish as it was his specialty, and he would definitely be a masterchef if he worked at Chat Thai 😛

Boat Noodles Soup

This is like the Thai version of Vietnamese Pho but this dish seemed to have a lot more flavour which I love and its really filling, lucky for me Galeries is so close to where I work I can come here and eat as much Chat Thai as I want during my breaks =)
