Gelato Messina, Darlinghurst

I was very surprised when I heard Gelato Messina was a popular gelato shop because Mr C and I have walked past it many times at Star City and never took much notice! It always looked quite ordinary there.
The thumbnail is Salted Caramel with White Chocolate (sorry for the horrible photos, definitely not our best). This was Mr C’s choice and is apparently the most popular flavour in the store! When Mr C first told me the name of the gelato he was going to order, I instantly thought of macarons from Adrianos. 🙂

The flavouring was quite sweet because of the pieces of white chocolate, but I loved the salted caramel taste to it! Just wished it was frozen a bit more as it was a bit runny when we purchased it.

My gelato. It was a choice between green tea and tiramisu but Mr C and I always have green tea ice cream so I went for the tiramisu this time! I was super happy with mine, I loved the pieces of tiramisu cake inside, and it was freshly made from the machine when I bought it! This surprisingly tastes yummy along with the salted caramel and white chocolate gelato (the name is so long!). I can taste the tiramisu in my imagination, absolutely mouth watering.

This is probably the best ice cream joint in all of Sydney, I can’t believe we walked past the store at the Star so many times and never made the link with this chain, at least now we’ll definitely visit much more often 🙂 We also managed to visit the Surry Hills store after our recent visit to Bourke Street Bakery, you can consider as addicted to Gelato Messina 🙂
