The Papparich Parramatta restaurant has been open for quite a while now and the never ending lines have still not dissipated because of its popularity. Just two weeks ago Poh Ling Yeow was up in Sydney hosting a pop up restaurant in Parramatta Westfield and we were invited along with other bloggers to dine with her at the Parramatta restaurant after her session.

Roti Telur Bawang w/ Curry Chicken

The roti is really good at Papparich and it’s a little bit different to that which you get at Mamak. It’s a bit more fluffy and has a slightly different taste, it’s hard to say which one is better because taste is subjective but I would happily eat either of them. Mr C really likes the Telur Bawang which is roti with egg and red onions and I have to agree because I love egg and onions!

Deep Fried Chicken Skin

Mr C and a bunch of others at the lunch have a really unhealthy obsession with the deep fried chicken skin,  they’re really addictive and so tasty. I told myself I would only have one piece when it arrived at the table but I couldn’t help myself and ended up having almost a dozen pieces by the end of the meal 🙁

Roti Canai

I actually find my favourite kind of roti is the roti canai, it’s the fluffiest and softest variation of roti on offer and I really enjoy the straight taste of roti and the accompanying sauces without any other ingredients. The simplicity of this dish is the best part – you just rip off pieces of roti and dip in sauces!

Fried Chicken Wings

The deep fried chicken wings at Papparich are so good, they’re served with a sweet chilli sauce which is just perfect and not too spicy. The chicken wings themselves are fried to a crisp but somehow manage to retain all the juiciness which shows with every bite you take.

Mixed Satay – Beef/Chicken

Along with the deep fried chicken wings I have to say that the satay sticks at Papparich are one of my favourite menu items, I think it was clear that chicken was the winner here simply because it’s much more tender and easier to eat compared to the beef which was a little bit tough.

Curry Chicken Laksa

I’m always a fan of laksa and the curry chicken laksa here is so creamy and aromatic compared to other laksa in Sydney. There are places in Sydney such as Malay Chinese Takeaway that do better overall bowls of laksa but the aroma and creaminess of this curry chicken laksa makes it worth the order regardless.

Fried Maggi Mee

Since we ordered a pile of dishes that we’ve tried before it was time for us to try something a little bit different. The fried maggi mee looked interesting and it’s just mee goreng with a slightly different name, the noodles turned out to be really nice with lots of spices and generous amounts of egg.

Assorted Vegetarian Entrees

I was surprised when these arrived on the table because at this stage we were already getting full from the piles of food we’d ordered. The others on our table had breakfast as well so this was a big challenge, all of them were vegetarian and were quite good however Mr C noted he prefers dishes with meat (typical) 🙂

Dry Kway Teow with Steamed Chicken

During the mayhem and chaos of food arriving on the table Mr C sneaked around to the other end of the table and took a few snapshots of the dry noodles with steamed chicken. I have to admit they looked really enticing and I regret not trying them when I had the chance but with the amount of food we had already ordered it was probably a wise decision!

Char Kway Teow

The Char Kway Teow as mentioned in our last visit of Papparich is one of the dishes we thought could be done a little better. We didn’t get a chance to try it again this time around but our preference is for CKT that is a little more ‘fried’ or crispy and has a smoky/wok fried flavour.

Ice Teh Tarik and Teh C Special

Our favourite part of the Papparich menu is the drinks, there are pages upon pages of drinks on offer and those that love Teh Tarik or Milk Teh will be very happy with all the choices. Aside from the two drinks above that we almost always order, one of our other favourite drinks that Mr C ordered later is the Coconut Paradise which is blended ice and coconut juice.

Needless to say I think it’s clear that Mr C and I really enjoy Papparich. We’ve visited the Parramatta restaurant a few times on the weekends in the past few months with family just because it’s a convenient and reliable restaurant. The restaurant has a good choice of food and everyone will find someone they enjoy.

The best thing about Papparich is the choice of delicious food and the consistency between all it’s stores, everything tastes the same and comes out uniform no matter which restaurant you visit.
