Lot.1 Sydney, CBD

Lot.1 Sydney is a new multi level establishment on the brink of making huge ripples in the Sydney dining scene by creating a new dining and nightlife hub. Lot.1 is an Italian influenced venue and will boast an espresso bar, restaurant space and multiple bars throughout the three levels. All the spaces are situated within a historical building beautifully renovated to be completely unrecognisable, due to open in December.

Cured meats, cheese, olives and bread

I had the pleasure of visiting the work in progress and dining in the completed espresso bar space where we were able to check out some samples of the upcoming menu. Starting off the meal was a mixed platter of cured meats, cheese, olives and bread.

I do love the entrees that were served at the start of the experience, the oysters I decided to pass on as I’m not a fan but the arancini and zucchini flowers were delicious and a great start to the meal.

Easily my favourite dish from the whole lunch session. The smoked burrata was an amazing piece of creamy buffalo based cheese, it was accompanied by fresh basil and tomato. A simple dish but definitely one that showcases the quality of the ingredients.

I’ve always been a big fan of kingfish so I knew I would enjoy this dish. The delicious kingfish sourced from South Australia was complimented by the perfect amount of citrus kick and a dash of campari.

The wild boar was a great savoury dish served with an amazing reggiano cheese, the full wheel of cheese was at the front on display and is quite an impressive specimen. The porcini mushrooms and gnocchi werea great accompaniment to the meat.

Finishing off the meal we were served a delicious sweet cannoli with a smooth creamy filling inside.

I was driving that day so I definitely had to keep the drinks to a minimum but I couldn’t help trying some of the champagne, wine and dessert drink which was a liquid tiramisu.

Since the majority of the restaurant was still under construction, we had our meal in the cosy espresso bar next door. The coffee here is great and as you can see the latte art is pretty unique and a refreshing departure from the traditional rosetta you always see.

I was very impressed with the Lot.1 venue as a whole even though the vast majority of it was yet to be complete, the section we were in had amazing woodwork decor and great lighting. I definitely can’t wait for the full launch of the space just to check the myriad of bars, restaurant space and other hidden nooks and crannies that there are bound to be.
