Baia The Italian, Darling Harbour

Baia The Italian is a popular waterfront restaurant located at Cockle Bay Wharf in Darling Harbour. It’s an Italian restaurant stalwart that has been operating in that location for many years consistently serving up food to Sydney locals and tourists alike. Thanks to Bindaree Beef I had the pleasure of visiting the restaurant to sample another of their delicious cuts of beef.
Seared scallops w/ sweet corn puree and sauteed king brown mushrooms
The seared scallops were our choice of starters and they turned out to be the perfect choice. The scallops are lightly seared and served with a smooth sweet corn puree and delicious mushrooms to compliment them.
Amy insisted that we order the confit pork salad but I was hesitant. With enough heckling I gave in, the salad turned out to be absolutely delicious with amazing servings of pork and delicious pancetta.
I was slightly disappointed by the gnocchi because of the sauce. The gnocchi itself was very soft and fluffy as expected however the sauce had a fair bit of melted cheese which was overpowering.
The Cape Byron beef supplied by Bindaree Beef is definitely an excellent cut of steak. The marbling gives it a great taste and ensures that it is a very tender piece of beef, perfect when served medium rare.
Baia the Italian turned out to be a great venue for waterfront dining with great food and a buzzing al fresco dining atmosphere. It was also great to see that the restaurant has a large selection of dishes on it’s menu ranging from pizza and pasta to full fledged mains including the steak dishes.
The Food Diary dined as guests of Baia The Italian & Bindaree Beef.
