Nook Urban Fresh Bar, CBD

There really aren’t many great brunch or cafe spots down towards Wynyard and Circular Quay but Nook Urban Fresh bar is one of the few that I would rate as worth visiting. The cosy little cafe serves up great coffee and food, the cafe itself has a rustic look to it which stands out from the urban jungle around it.

Pat’s Pita Pocket – lamb, chilli labneh, water cress, tabouli, piquillo pepper, roasted almonds

I wasn’t the one to order this but it looked quite good, generous servings of lamb covered in various ingredients and served on top of a delicious looking pita bread.

I was quite impressed by the chicken dish,the tender chicken is served alongside a delicious leek sauce and two types of mushrooms. The kale wasn’t overpowering as I first expected at all which was a big plus because I tend to be disappointed by kale which overpowers the rest of most dishes.

Nook also serves coffee from St Ali roasters down in Melbourne, I’ve always enjoyed the coffee from St Ali when I visit and the house blend here is just as great. Overall it’s a great little break from the hustle and bustle of office life and certainly worth checking out for a nice meal.
