Clubhouse is a restaurant in Rosebery which is open to diners all day long ranging from breakfast all the way to dinner (they close late). The restaurant is located within the Surf Life Saving Australia HQ and the interiors are inspired by the beach with appropriate decor to match.

I have to admit I wasn’t expecting much from a fish dish, I find them to be quite average in general. This was definitely an exception, delicious puffed rice on top of the fish and a really nice puree to go on the side.
Smoked Mozzarella croquettes (4), paprika mayo
My guest was a vegetarian but I was aware that Clubhouse had quite a good selection of non-meat dishes, this was one of my favourites because of the abundance of cheese and delicious paprika mayo on the side.
Cauliflower salad, goat’s curd, macadamia, raisins, honey cumin vinaigrette
I absolutely love roasted cauliflower, it’s one of my favourite items to order if it’s on the menu and this was no different. I also loved the taste that came out of mixing sweet items like the raisins and honey with more savoury items like the goats curd and macadamia.
Pickled Beetroot salad, quinoa, spicy pepitas, smoked goat’s curd, habanero vinaigrette
Of the two salads I didn’t enjoy this one quite as much, the quinoa and beetroot were really nice with the goats curd (I love goats curd!) but it just simply didn’t feel like a dish I would have for dinner out of choice. It’s deceiving in that it doesn’t look like a substantial main sized dish but it actually really is.
Wagyu Scotch Fillet (300g), celeriac puree, pickled cocktail, onion, horseradish butter, jus, garlic shoots
This was definitely one of the better steaks that I’ve had in a long long time, it was perfectly cooked medium rare exactly as I asked for. The jus and celeriac puree served with it was delicious however I was a little undecided on the horseradish butter which was quite strong.
Truffled polenta chips, parmesan, aioli
When the truffled polenta chips arrived I was already quite full, luckily for me my guest managed to eat most of it for me as there was no way I was going to be able to do so after the steak.
Clubhouse gaytime, toffee parfait, honeycomb, caramel sauce
I have to admit I love the concept of gaytime inspired desserts. The best part of this for me would easily be the parfait, each spoonful was heavenly sweet and refreshingly cool.
I’ve heard from a few people that there’s never anything good to eat around Rosebery but it’s definitely safe to say that this place proves them wrong. I really enjoyed my meal here and it was great that they were so accommodating to dietary requirements, the atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxed and welcoming and there seemed to be a lot of cheery groups dining that evening.
