I was surprised to find that the onion rings were actually my favourite item on the menu, I find that a lot of places don’t do onion rings as well as I wish they did but The Observer Hotel is spot on. The onions are cooked until they are soft and sweet while the batter is very substantial and crispy.

The grilled fish for the day was a fillet of barramundi served with a side of tartare sauce for the fish and a nice salad dressed in balsamic vinegar.
